I really wanted to like this shoe but it didn't work out that way. As a long-time recreational runner, I have tried different shoes looking for not only comfort but support. I normally buy Brooks but really wanted to find a comparable shoe manufactured by a Canadian organization - and so hence the Hettas brand.

I have had the Hettas Alma Cruiser for just over 2 weeks and have worn them at work and while walking for 3 full days off and on. When I first opened up the box, I thought the shoe looked nice but I was not impressed with the laces. I have had laces like these before and they ALWAYS come undone after several hours. Unfortunately, this did occur. Also, I am definitely not impressed with the shoe tongue - it is made from plastic components and not very comfortable. As well, the toe box's material is almost transparent. I can see the full definition of my socks underneath the upper portion. But it does make for a very lightweight shoe.

Additionally, yesterday I noticed that the threading around the side of one shoe, near the laces is starting to come undone. That's not good at all for a 2 week old shoe work 3 times.

I do like that the shoes are a bit narrower than the Brooks Ghost runners and so they fit snugly. They do provide good cushioning.

The welcoming emails and running tips after purchase are something that Brooks does not do and so, from a customer service experience perspective, are very much appreciated.
