Rachel Cliff has been with Hettas since our inception—giving product feedback, creating training guides, and leading our all-female run study back in 2022. She's the former Canadian record holder for the Marathon and Half-marathon and a bronze medalist at the Pan Am Games.
Below, she shares her bucket list race, the thought that keeps her going through a challenge, and what Hettas she's currently training in.
How does running make you feel?
Free!
Name a women who inspires you.
Malindi Elmore. She returned to sport at a high level after having 2 kids and thinking she was done.
What’s something you thought you couldn’t do, but did?
Hitting the Olympic Standard in 2016. I knew I physically could do it, but I didn’t believe I would perform when I needed to.
What song gets you fired up before a run?
Varies all the time, depending on what my Spotify has found me. Right now I’m into the band Mt. Joy. Song: Strangers.
Any races on your bucket list?
The Antarctica Marathon—then I can say I’ve raced on every continent.
How would you celebrate a new PB?
A few years ago, I would have had a beer. Now, I’d spend the night writing thank you notes to everyone who supported me since surgery (the list would be long!). I’m not sure a PB is in my future and, if I ever run one, I’ll have a lot of people to thank.
You’re at peak difficulty of a workout, race, or run—what one thought keeps you going?
That I know I can do it.
Which Hettas are you currently training in?
Alma Cruises
